ORDERS
We accept orders until July 31 for U.S. destinations only.  Submit your order as early as possible for the best selection.

SUBSTITUTIONS
If a variety you order is sold out, we will substitute or not as you indicate on your Order. Substitutions will be of a similar iris.

EXTRAS
Your order will include extras of our choice based on order value. Suggestions welcome.

SHIPPING
We ship to northern climates in July-August. Oklahoma and Texas ship mid-August to mid-September. Each order is hand dug, trimmed, tagged, washed, and shipped within two days usually by U.S. Postal Service.  We do not ship irises before July 1.

Lady FriendGROWING INSTRUCTIONS
Bearded irises are live plants (not dried bulbs). PLANT THEM IMMEDIATELY.  They need well-drained soil, neutral pH, and at least 6 hours of sun per day. Instructions are included in each shipment. When each new plant is in the ground, remove the stapled name tag and insert it in the soil in front of the iris.  Do not water iris excessively, particularly in very hot climates. Normal rainfall is usually adequate for bearded irises.  THE FASTEST WAY TO KILL A BEARDED IRIS IS TOO MUCH WATERING.

In Texas, bearded irises grow best north and west of US 59 (from Houston to Laredo). They require a definite winter season not found further south or near the Gulf Coast.

Likewise, bearded irises are not suitable for semi-tropical or warm coastal zones like central and southern Florida.

GUARANTEE
Argyle Acres is a state licensed and inspected nursery. We guarantee all plants to be healthy and true to name as registered with the American Iris Society. If there is a problem, let us know immediately.
