Each April we open the display garden at our home free of
charge to the general public. We call this beautiful event IRIS IN
BLOOM.
Our home is at 910 Pioneer Circle, which is truly a
circle. When you leave you don't have to turn around, just drive
forward to circle right back to Forest Trail. Please park along the
street. Bring your camera and
pen or pencil. You are not
required to order.
Many people are surprised that irises bloom in partial
shade. Irises need at least a half day of direct sunlight in
Texas which has extremely hot summers. More sunlight is better.
In addition to the beds of irises, we display bouquets fresh
cut from our growing fields.
IRIS IN BLOOM is a fun outing for the entire family (no dogs, please).
Cameras and comfortable shoes are a must!
Our bouquet tables concentrate a large amount of bloom
for mobility impaired visitors and others to see a lot in a small area.
Parking is available at the house for the mobility
impaired.
Each bouquet is tagged with the name of the iris and the
price of one rhizome.
The bouquets are display only. We do not sell cut
flowers.
On a day like this, the fragrance is wonderful.
Tables and chairs are provided to relax and enjoy the
irises. You can complete an order form and place your order in the garden,
if desired.
Orders are accepted through July 31 for
shipment at the best time for planting at your location.
The golf car is helpful to people who need a ride up or
down the hill. Our log home is at the top of a hill
about 200 feet from the paved street.
